Pale Dot is a game about a crew of non-human cosmonauts embarking on a whimsical, surreal, and existential journey through their solar system. It’s heavily inspired by media like Outer Wilds, No Man’s Sky, Annihilation, and the musings of Carl Sagan. It’s a GM-less improvisational narrative focused experience borrowing from games like Fall of Magic and those using the Belonging Outside Belonging framework.
There is no set scenario. Players will collaborate at the table to create a unique alien culture and their homeworld then subsequently envelope them in a cosmic mystery that can only be solved by venturing into the unknown.
I’m Devin (they/them) and I’m the creator of Pale Dot. I make and enjoy games that are eclectic, eccentric, absurd, and often surreal. Whether I’m designing games or running them, I like to facilitate collaborative and emergent storytelling, the type that is wilder than anything any one person could have come up with on their own.
